People Power Anniversary 2012: MMDA Traffic Re-Routing Scheme (Philippines)

In connection with the celebration of the 26th People Power Anniversary, some portions of EDSA will be closed to traffic on Friday and Saturday to make way for activities commemorating the popular uprising.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) in its Twitter account said the following streets will be closed to motorists on February 25, 2012:

• 12:01AM - 3PM: 4th and 5th lane of EDSA northbound from Corinthians Gate to Camp Aguinaldo Gate 4
• 4AM - 11AM: White Plains Westbound from Temple Drive towards EDSA
• 5AM - 11AM: EDSA northbound from Ortigas to Santolan
• 12:01PM - to 3PM: EDSA Ortigas northbound

  The 4th and 5th lane of EDSA near the People Power Monument will be closed on Friday, February 24, from 3 a.m. up to 5 a.m. for the rehearsals, the MMDA stated.

Alternative routes : Ortigas flyover San Juan; Ortigas EB to C5; EDSA Kalayaan to C5; Shaw Blvd EB to C5; JP Rizal to Makati/Mandaluyong Bridge; and Shaw and Julia Vargas to C5.
